![]() Wineries of the Durbanville Wine Route D'ARIA VINEYARDSThe land was first granted in 1698. Almost exactly three centuries later, in 1998, Barinor Holdings, a local property investment and development company bought and redeveloped the property. The rejuvenation of D'Aria started with a replanting programme in 1998. Just over 60 hectares are now established on new rootstock. Warmer north-facing slopes are under classical red varieties cabernet sauvignon, merlot and shiraz; cool east-facing aspects under noble sauvignon blanc and viognier. The D’Aria cellar, inaugurated with the 2008 crop, is equipped to handle 400 tons, an ultra-modern environment for hands-on winemaking. All D’Aria wines are handcrafted from start to finish. Grapes are hand picked and bunches and berries undergo a second sorting, also by hand, at the cellar. ![]() ![]()
